Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Cello and Percussion (6 mins)

We Waited Until Time Was No More focuses on performer agency as a central theme, and the social dynamic of a chamber music setting is amplified allowing the nuanced interactions between instruments to sustain the piece. There is no metre or traditional time-keeping method, which allows the piece to be guided by โ€˜musicalโ€™ time rather than metric constraints.

The piece is scored for a mixed quartet of Bb Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Cello and assorted Percussion; Snare Drum, single Crotale, โ€˜biro cap whistleโ€™ and Metallic Resonator. It was originally composed for United Instruments of Lucilin (Luxembourg), but sadly the performance couldnโ€™t go ahead due to pandemic restrictions.
