Soundwalk (7 mins)

A Method For Sorting Cows is a short soundwalk set in the Malieveld and Koekamp parks in Den Haag. It was created as part of a collection of soundwalks exploring various part of Den Haag.

The piece was inspired by the dual-history of the Malieveld and Koekamp parks in the centre of Den Haag, which were first used as grazing space for cattle in the 14th and 15th century and are now typically used as the sites for mass protests, and have recently become something of a battleground for civil disruption. The title, and main text of the soundwalk are taken from Robert Morris’ 1967 publication of the same name.

The piece is permanently available on the free Echoes platform for anybody who is in Den Haag.
